2024 National Conference
For the latest updatges on the program check out our registration page.
Welcome to Traverse City, Michigan, Cherry Capital of the World!
In 1984, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation began providing seed money for volunteer caregiving and its initial grants pioneered the model that eventually scaled to serve the entire United States through more than 1,000 organizations, now present in every state. Forty years later, this national model continues to thrive, supporting people with disabilities and older adults seeking to age in place.
Learn about the movement’s history and discover the innovative ways that our organizations have come to serve vulnerable populations with the helping hands of good neighbors.
Your National Caregiving Network has created an intimate conference designed for you to meet like-minded leaders who share your unique challenges and continue to overcome obstacles to grow and serve upwards of 2200 communities throughout the country.
The Volunteer Caregiving Model, in and of itself, is a unique model of social service rooted in five building blocks. Learn the history and take away best practices that have allowed us to survive, adapt and respond with essential services.
Please note that time references are Eastern Standard Time
Bring your office team and board of directors to celebrate 40 years of demonstrated success in delivering volunteer caregiving to our communities.
*Remote Sessions are limited and indicated with a red asterisk
AMBASSADORS & TRUSTEES
Conference Preview by Invitation Only: 2:30 – 7 p.m., Thursday, October 31, 2024
Please join us on Thursday afternoon, October 31, 2024 for a preview of our strategic planning. The Board of Trustees looks forward to hosting you for dinner and learning how we can strengthen your statewide endeavors to support the boots on the ground. Interested in serving as an Ambassador for your state? We welcome your commitment to serve. Please contact Tammy Glenn, executivedirector@nvcnetwork.org
INNOVATIVE PROJECTS. Volunteer Caregiving has proven itself to be nimble, adapting to the needs of each community. Organizations are invited to display a centerpiece that encourages discussion while celebrating and promoting programs such as Caregiver Canines, Dementia Friendly Respite, Sentimental Journey Music, Hospital to Home and more! You may wish to display brochures or business cards to share. Consider that table guests will need to be able to look past and around your centerpiece, so it doesn’t need to be dense. It just needs to spark a conversation about your unique and innovative program. We also encourage you to make it easy to transport. A limited number of table tops are available. To reserve your table top, please contact boardpresident@nvcnetwork.org
SUBJECT TO CHANGE
While our program is subject to change, directors have provided input to ensure lots of opportunities for you to make new friends and build regional connections throughout your visit. If you have ideas you’d like to see us implement, please reach out and let us know! We are here to serve you!
